It is common for Filipino students to encounter this situation because parents will force their children to take career paths that will bring pride and prestige. These include career paths that are related to medical courses fields, or business and finance fields. This leads to a change in courses for the sake of their parents’ advice. However, it is the student’s decision to make on what future career path they want to pursue.
