Most people experience a big dilemma
in their lives in which career path should they take. It is common for Filipino
students to encounter this situation because parents will force their children
to take career paths that will bring pride and prestige. These include career
paths that are related to medical courses fields, or business and finance
fields. This leads to a change in courses for the sake of their parents’
advice. However, it is the student’s decision to make on what future career
path they want to pursue. Whatever path they think is right for them will bring
success and happiness to their lives.

As of now, I
am in the field of Accountancy at this college. It has been a wonderful
opportunity for me to be in this field because it is my targeted course since
high school. However, if I am in the field of IT, I would like to pursue
Program and App Developer or Web Designer. I find it interesting in designing
and developing applications and programs considering that we are in a
technological generation. As technology advances, more programs and systems
will be developed in the following years. Moreover, I am also interested in
designing, editing, and layouts to make my presentations and projects look
pleasing and entertaining. I consider myself a perfectionist when it comes to
my works, specifically on the visual aspect because it creates an impression
and leaves an impact on the audience’s perspective. Not only the visual aspect
but also the accessibility and easiness of the overall performance of the
website. And with that, it creates a reputation for the company. Furthermore, I
have the skills to become a Web designer, but I want to flourish more in my
talents and broaden my knowledge in the field of IT.

To be honest,
if I would be given a chance to change my career path, being a web designer
would be the one. I have tons of interests that I would like to explore knowing
that I would enjoy myself doing it with high compensation. Although accountancy is one
of my targeted courses, I feel like I need to expose myself to other
opportunities and rethink my decisions in life. Who knows if there is a change
of heart in pursuing my dreams and leading to a better future?
