Connecting to the world of technology

I cannot fully remember my first encounter with a computer, but I’m sure that I was at a very young age. By that time, computers were one of the items that OFWs would gift their families when they went back to their hometowns. My uncle gave us a computer for us to use if we wanted to communicate with him when he goes back abroad.

When I first looked into computers, I was amazed by how technology works. I was excited because of the various features that it has, especially how big the screen was. As the computer turned on, we just clicked everything we saw since we do not have any idea how the computer works. When we encounter problems with the computer, we would just simply turn it off by clicking the power on/off button. But after some time, we got to get the hang of it in using the computer.

My family always takes turns in using the computer. However, it ended up in chaos because I and my cousin were fighting over computer games. I remember that we used to play Purble Place, Minesweeper, Plants vs. Zombies, Feeding Frenzy, and a lot more.

As time went by, I got to explore with online browsers which led me to online games and websites such as Y8, Y3, Nick Jr, and Facebook. The most memorable moment with my family was that we always played Farmville, Pet Society, and Tetris Battle! We’re almost screaming inside our house as we play those games.

It feels so nostalgic as I reminisce about these memories as if they happened yesterday. I wish we could turn back time as we capture those moments again. And with technological advancements, we can preserve memories as a daily occurrence.

  1. Before, I wished to have my own computer set. However, my family can not afford it. I'm so glad you had your own before. That's nice!
